Solutions of Providence/Cranston
Programs of 2003 offered:
Comprehensive Community Action Program in
Cranston which serves 10
out-of-school younger youth (16 - 18). The
program includes academic remediation, world of
work skills training, mentoring, tutoring, job
placement, case management, supportive services
and 12-month follow-up services.
Rhode Island Central Directory for Nurses
is a similar program for 28 younger
out-of-school youth and is located in
Providence.
Whitmarsh House is an in-school
program for 10 youth. The program includes
academic remediation, career guidance,
supportive services, leadership development,
tutoring and follow-up services.
John Hope Settlement House is an
in-school program for 25 youth who will be
entering the 12th grade in September 2004. It
includes similar services as those at Whitmarsh
House.
